Last month was a really good month for me in online poker.  The high stakes games had really good traffic and a lot of really bad players playing high volume.  One player in particular is a legit -8% to -10% fish, which is pretty huge for super turbo HU, especially for somebody who played me in 233 games last month, mostly $1Ks.  Almost half of my games in November were $500+ and my average stake was $466.  Last month was one of the only months where I didn't sit many regs, simply because the action was so good.  I also played less tables on average, partly because I was trying something new but mainly because then high stakes games were running so much.  If I have a $1K running I won't register for any game lower than $500, and if I have a $500 running I won't register for anything lower than $250.  Otherwise I'm usually registered in all the $90+ HU super turbos on Lock.  I made over $61,000 before any rakeback or bonuses or any of that, which is a pretty huge month, especially playing on a US site after Black Friday.  I currently have a lead of over $60K on the sharkscope.com Merge any game by network total profit leaderboard so it would pretty much take a miracle for me not to finish #1, unless somebody with their stats blocked like irunlikeGod has a lot more profit than I think.

Last month I did an interview with Pokernewsboy & a podcast with Pokerxfactor.  You can read the interview & listen to the podcast here:

At the end of last month Playersonly, and I've heard maybe some other skins on the Merge network, took away their high stakes HU SNG lobbies.  Considering that they have a sportsbook my guess as to why they did this is to help prevent their sports bettors from going broke in poker, considering they almost certainly make more money off of their sportsbook than poker.  You can definitely see the  effect at the tables.  Not even 10% of my games this month have been $500+ and my average stake is only $186.  This month I'm back to sitting most regs in the lobbies, avoiding maybe a handful of players whose games I have very high respect for, referrals, and some friends.  I'm also back to playing 4-6 tables at a time a lot more.  At the end of the month I'm going to further analyze how playing 4-6 tables effects my ROI and decide whether I want to continue that route or play mostly 3 tables at a time.  I have a pretty good sample 4-6 tabling but most of it is with a smaller average stake and I also do some things differently now.  If I lose money I'll just chalk it up to research.

Overall I'm very happy with where my HU game is right now.  Having the time to study again makes a big difference, and I think I've been very efficient with my time.  I try to mostly stay off of skype & AIM because it can turn into a huge waste of time.  I'd rather spend that time playing or working on my game.

I wanted to play the $1K MSPT (http://msptpoker.com/) that started yesterday but some of our good friends were throwing a party.  I'm not really willing to miss good social events for live tournaments.

I'm hoping to have my interview with Lock Pro Marc Alioto posted today.  I plan on posting a new interview every Monday so look out for that.  Now that I'm almost done with my 5th year playing as a full time poker pro, I thought it would be good to go back & write yearly reviews of each of my years as a pro so far.  I write yearly reviews at the end of each year anyway, but I thought it might be interesting to look back on things knowing what I know now.  Hopefully I can start these reviews by the end of this month.

PokerFacePr (http://www.pokerfacepr.com/) is working on a new HTML website design for my official website (http://www.jaredhubbard.com/).  When that is done I will likely be moving this blog there.
