October was a good month for poker.  Live I won the Canterbury Fall Classic Main Event for almost $71K, which is the largest poker tournament in Minnesota as far as I know.  Online turned out to be profitable, despite the fact that I started the month continuing on a $30K downswing & was down over $21K on the month at 1 point.  At the end of the month I started a $95K upswing and am currently in 1st on the sharkscope.com Merge any game by network total profit leaderboard with a $60,000+ profit lead over the 2nd place guy.  However, the guy who was in 2nd just blocked his stats & I'm fairly certain he's in the $40-$50K range unless he just had a huge downswing, which would shrink the lead to $45-$55K.

Now that I have more full months coming up to meet my Lock Elite Pro obligations I've decided to not play any 6 man SNGs this month or in the near future, unless I need to play them to meet my obligations.  I'm also getting back into studying a lot more since I have the time.  If I'm waiting for HU games & I don't have emails or tweets to respond to I'm usually studying now.  At the beginning of January my volume will probably pickup, but I don't see myself every putting in the amount of hrs at the table in HU as I did in 6 mans.  It takes way more mental focus and I prefer to be on my A game.  Right now I'm thinking I'll probably play around 30 hours a week in 2012 with about 8 weeks off.  In 6 mans I put in a lot more 40 hr weeks, although I also often took off more than 8 weeks during the year.  I'm very excited to see how 2012 goes.  HU SNGs have brought a new challenge to my poker career and I look forward to it.  I'm also interested to see if the $500 & $1K action on Lock stays the same, as the action has been pretty damn good lately.
